December’s Sunday Morning Bible Study
The older you get, the harder it can be to know what to ask for Christmas. As a child, it’s easy to ask for dolls, bicycles, toy trucks, clothing, or whatever interests us. As teenagers and growing adults, that list seemingly gets a little more challenging to brainstorm. Sure, you can ask for a new phone, the latest shoes, or what’s on trend. But when it comes down to it, what we desire—what we really want—can’t be perfectly wrapped in a box and placed under a tree. What we desire is love, joy, peace, stability, direction, and especially in the midst of a holiday season, to remember, I am not alone. You are not alone, God is with us in our midst. Because of His great love for us, He sent a gift that wouldn’t come as a box under a tree, but a Child in a manger. The gift and good news that we all have desperately been searching for is closer than we think—in fact, Jesus is in our midst. We are not alone. -Lifeway Student Ministry
